This lesson came about after a student in the Members Studio asked how I would block in this beautiful summer landscape by Peder Mønsted. The more I studied it, the more I felt it would make a really good full lesson. I take a slightly looser approach than usual, focusing on expressive brushwork, natural colour and the subtle changes in light, while using techniques that feel natural to the way I paint and help capture the overall feel of the original.
