There are many challenges in painting this beautiful lily flower and I suspect for most, the slightly submerged leaf and beads of water will be a daunting prospect. It needn’t be. I’ll show you how to master it with a simple method that requires little more than understanding how colour influences what we see and perceive. This painting is better suited to the more advanced artist, but I’d encourage everyone to give it a go. I chose to keep this painting relatively small but there’s no limit to how large you can go if you have the time!
